Handbuilding and Sculpting Class

In this 8-week class Lily Schor will instruct and demonstrate both functional handbuilt pieces and sculptural work using various techniques. Students will work with Lily using slab, extruded pieces, coil and other methods encouraging each student to what they have learned in their own direction.

Lily Schor Learned Ceramic with Bruno La Vediere and Tom Suomalnin at the Cooper Square Art School in NYC, and with Mikhael Zakin at Greenwich House Pottery. Lily then proceeded and opened Stepping Stone Pottery in Brooklyn, NY where she taught and made her own work. Lily later moved to Westchester, NY where she held several positions teaching pottery to adults and children while being a production potter selling her work to galleries in NYC & Maine. Lily's work was exhibited in several shows, galleries and museums.

Altered Forms & Surface Texture

In this hands-on workshop, Morty will demonstrate how to transform wheel thrown pots into a work of art where they will “move from the kitchen to the living room”. Your work will never be the same and the knowledge gained in this workshop will alter your thought process about pottery dramatically. Morty will share his knowledge and he is an absolutely hands-on teacher; he will guide each individual to her/his level to maximize full potential and performance.
