Greetings,

Hope you are all having a great summer. Here at Lakeside Pottery we are having a lot of fun with close to 200 children participating in our weekly summer camp programs with hundreds of ceramic work made/fired every week.

The Fall and Winter programs and activities are planned and we want to share them with you. Adult and children Fall classes are starting the week of September 1st - registration started. See below for more information and schedules or visit our website at www.lakesidepottery.com.

We begun to conduct our new offerings of Pottery Birthday Parties and Team Building Workshops and they were quite successful. If interested, please visit our web site for more details or call us at 203-323-2222.

Over 50 people attended our Free Pottery Making workshops on Sunday June 1st. Several of you asked to take part in a future Free Pottery Making Workshop. We therefore scheduled the next Free Pottery Making workshp for Sun, Aug 31. Call or click above us for details.

FALL 2003 8-WEEK POTTERY MAKING PROGRAMS

SUMMER CAMP

The weekly Pottery Summer Camp Program is designed to expose children to an actual pottery studio where they use the wheel and other pottery making methods. Several creative and fun projects will be taught by our accomplished artist / teachers. Potter's Wheel, Hand building and Glazing.

A few seats are available in some weeks. Can enroll in one or more weeks. Snack, material, toolset

& firing fees included. $244 a week.

  • Age 8 -11 Mon to Thu, 9:00AM -12:00PM
  • Age 12 -15 Mon to Thu, 1:00PM - 4:00PM

A Technique for Creating Slab Sculptures

A short history of ceramic faces and Lily's own voyage to making faces. Demonstration of hand rolled and thrown slabs. Demonstration of sculptural technique making faces. Hands-on exploration of the techniques taught.

Raku Workshop - Sun Sept 21, 2003 >> 10:00 - 4:00PM

Come spend the day out doors using this ancient firing technique originating in Japan. Click HERE for more details

Steven Hill Workshop - Sat and Sunday Oct 18 and 19

Functional Stoneware/Single Firing

What makes a pot functional? How can pottery transcend mere function, while still honoring it's intended use?

In this two day workshop, Steven will throw and alter pots, demonstrate slip trailing, and use the extruder; all the while communicating his enthusiasm and passion for functional stoneware and single firing. Click HERE for more information.


BIRTHDAY PARTIES

We offer birthday parties for children (age 7 and older) and for adults. The party can be customized to your requirements and be conducted in our studio or at a location of your choice (your home, a hotel, office).

The parties are fun and educational. The party can be designed with a wide range of activities. Work on the potters wheel, hand building project and glazing. A typical party is one session where the participants build their art project and select the glaze they like. Click HERE for more information

TEAM BUILDING WORKSHOPS

What kind of activity will engage people of various backgrounds, interests, and capabilities while, at the same time, helping them to unite as a team? (Without draining the HR training budget.)
