Altered
Forms and Surface Texture Workshop
|
|
|
In
this hands-on workshop, Morty will demonstrate how to transform wheel
thrown pots into a work of art where they will "move from the
kitchen to the living room." In addition to the above techniques,
advanced throwing methods will be covered (e.g., large bowls, closed
forms, etc.). The knowledge gained in this workshop will alter your
thought process about pottery dramatically. Intermediate pottery
throwing skill is required.
When:
Sunday, March 25, 10-4PM

Runny Glaze
Workshop
In
this workshop you will learn how to: Throw catch basins to collect
excess glaze, trim for runny glazes, chisel off catch
basins, polish bottoms to a mirror finish, know how runny
glazes are going to react to firing, use different application
techniques of glazes, adjust kiln for runny glazes, why runny
glazes are runny, possibly get small crystals with these runny
glazes, know how stable glazes effect runny glazes
and foresee how surface texture effects the movement of runny
glazes.
When:
Sunday,
May 13th, 11:00AM - 2:00PM
Sunday, June
10th, 10:00AM - 3:00PM
