Kintsugi Art With Gemstone Inserts - Lakeside Pottery Examples

We love inserting gemstones, glass or different ceramic segments into our Kintsugi work. This video highlights some important considerations before starting this process.

1. Selecting the right gemstone and the right vessel with compatible wall thickness and thickness uniformity.
2. Having the proper tools, experience and safety procedures to cut and grind the ceramic wall. We use Dremel rotary tools together with various diamond heads and cutting discs.
3. Achieving a precise fit to help create uniform and visually balanced Kintsugi lines around the gemstone perimeter.
